At Sobriety Sounds, we believe that music is more than just entertainment—it is "the brush we use to illuminate time" and the way we speak to the world. For many individuals in recovery from alcoholism and addiction, it is common to feel without purpose. Some may have even lost their instruments while in active addiction.
We are here to challenge the misconception that creativity requires a substance. Our mission is to demonstrate that substance use is NOT required to be creative and to provide the resources necessary to help individuals gain, regain, restore, and retain their musical abilities.
The transition into recovery is often arduously difficult. Without a creative outlet, individuals can find themselves in a "silent dominion," void of motivation and drive. Sobriety Sounds acts as a resource for the recovery community, offering encouragement and accessibility to those who communicate through creativity.
We desire a collective shift in thinking—a reversal of old ways and a path toward unlimited potential. Whether someone has years of experience or has never picked up an instrument, we provide a sober environment where learning and productivity can prevail in the face of adversity.
While we work toward our long-term goal of establishing a dedicated physical sober space, we currently fulfill our mission through mobile outreach and community-focused programs:
Our current operations are just the beginning. We will continue to work toward having a space of our own and looking for ways to perpetually fund a Sobriety Sounds space. This space will serve as a permanent hub for the recovery community, offering a consistent environment where sobriety and creativity grow together.
Join us as we work to bring back the voice of those in recovery. Sobriety… Sounds like us.
