We Need Your Help!
As our services grow, our needs grow as well. We're in need of a commercial van that we can use to transport all our equipment back and forth from our treatment center visits and events we throw for the community.
Is to create a safe and sober space for people in addiction recovery by making musical instruments, writing space (desks, free notebooks/pens), recording equipment, and music education consistently accessible. Our long-term goal is to have a space where we can effectively serve our mission
While we continuously work toward obtaining a space of our own, we regularly bring instruments into treatment centers for group jams and acoustic performances. Click the button below to see hand written feedback we've received from patients.

Our organization will focus on everything music related and provide a safe and sober place for musicians, writers, and creators to learn, collaborate, and expand their skills. We believe it's imperative to have more appealing services that not only foster creativity through music, but are consistently accessible to those who choose to get sober.
To help musicians, writers, and creators in addiction recovery maintain their sobriety by making musical instruments, writing space, recording equipment, and music education consistently accessible as part of their program of recovery.
Anyone who needs a safe and sober place to be, regardless of their music or creative ability. We ask that anyone who comes into the facility, please don’t come in under the influence of drugs and alcohol. For those who feel like they’ve lost their creativity, or don’t have access to instruments, or who want to collaborate with like-minded people, Sobriety Sounds is for you.
View our vision in a whole new way! We've created a 3D layout of our plans for Rochester NY to show what SBS is all about. We are going to create a revolutionary resource for the addiction recovery community and we need your help!

Our goal is to create a space where we can serve our mission during regular and consistent operating hours in hopes of being available when needed most. We have an ambitious goal for our space to have a main floor, learning area, instrument repair station, acoustic room, group collaboration room, & recording studio. <<< Check out our proposed layout
Will be a full creative setup, consisting of a writing desk, free notebooks/pens/pencils, music stool, music stand, instrument stand, amplifier, and trash bin. Guests can pick their instrument, utilize their station by themselves or with others, and sign out (for free) items like Studio Headphones, Picks, Guitar Pedals, Instrument Cords, Capos, and Tuners.
We are an official nonprofit under the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). There are over 23 million addicts and alcoholics in the United States and Rochester has not been immune to the rise in overdose rates, many which have been fatal. Most services available to the recovery community are time restrictive, fizzling out shortly after the first year or only lasting an hour or two a few times a week. Sobriety Sounds will have consistent operating hours in hopes of being available when needed most. The Maintenance stage of recovery is the timeframe after someone stops drinking/using. A program of recovery consists of a variety of positive changes made to replace undesirable habits from a life in active addiction/alcoholism.
Our organization is meant to be used as part of someone’s program of recovery.
Matthew is a singer/songwriter in recovery. He was inspired to create Sobriety Sounds after losing multiple friends to overdoses. In early sobriety, Matthew thought he had lost his creativity after getting sober. His goal is to help others find their creativity in their sobriety
